BRITNEY EARNS HER 4TH TOP 40 HIT FOR 2004

Britney Spears earns her fourth Mainstream Top 40 hit this year, as 'My Prerogative' (Jive) begins its chart life at No. 28. Spears is now tied with Usher as the artist with the most chart debuts this year on this tally.

Spears also has charted the most songs on Mainstream Top 40 so far this decade, with a total of 14. With 16 charting songs in her career, Spears is in fourth place behind Madonna (24), Janet Jackson (news) (21) and Mariah Carey (20) for the artist with the most charted titles in the history of the chart.

BRITNEY TO RELEASE GREATEST HITS ALBUM AND DVD

Britney's Greatist Hits: My Prerogative is due to hit stores on November 16, while a video for her cover of Bobby Brown's "My Prerogative" begins filming later this month. The song will be released as a single in September in advance of the November release of the album.

Songs included on the Greatest Hits will range from Britney classics such as "...Baby One More Time" to this year's smash hit "Toxic." As a bonus, the new release will include a limited edition remix CD.

Britney Spears Out for 4 Months - Onyx Hotel Tour Cancelled

June 15, 2004 - New York, NY - After last week's injury resulting from a fall on the set of her video shoot for "Outrageous" in Queens, NY, Britney Spears underwent arthroscopic knee surgery at a New York hospital. The surgery was necessary to repair severe damage caused to the singer's leg by the incident.

Ms. Spears will be immobile for 6 weeks, with her knee in a hard brace. This will be followed by a minimum of 8-12 weeks of rehabilitation.

The Onyx Hotel Tour which was scheduled to begin on June 22nd in Hartford, CT and end in Bakersfield, CA on August 15th is cancelled. Britney Spears hopes to revisit those cities in the future. For ticket information call Clear Channel.
